May 6, 2006. Episode 79: Happy Military Spouse Appreciation Day! Every year, the Friday before Mother's Day is designated as
"Military Spouse Appreciation Day". It's not yet a National Holiday but we can still celebrate. This year, it's on May 11th. Have a good one. |

May 13, 2006. Episode 80: So I went to the Self-Help store on base ( that's the place where we pick up lightbulbs, paint, etc., for our base-housing units)
and I needed a globe for the dining room light. One of the ladies looked at me like I was crazy. She said, "We don't know what those are." (Yes, she said "We")
So I went to another lady who was coming out of the stockroom, explained what I needed, and she said "Clear or White?" Bingo!
All it takes is finding the person who's on the ball. I don't know how the others keep their jobs. |

May 20, 2006. Episode 81: Job hunting is so demeaning, isn't it? Nobody's ever hiring for your specialty and the things they have available
are what you're doing at home for free already. |

May 27, 2006. Episode 82: I'm not overweight but I am out of shape. But I will NOT join one of those fitness groups.
No way, no way, no way! After all, the other participants are usually military women and the humiliation for me is just too much. ;-) |
