LOVE IT!! That’s so right!!! I hate them!
I don’t really care for them…I prefer to be able to say hello to someone when checking out.
I dislike them because they always seem to not work correctly when I use it, so the cashier has to come over and fix it. Very annoying!
And they only give you 5 seconds to remove your stuff once you’ve paid before sounding the alarm PLEASE TAKE YOUR BAGS NOWWWWWWW BEEEEP
Only one I use. Love the self checkout. Quick and easy. Never had a problem with them.
I never carry cash anymore so I never have any to give tips to the baggers.
I love the self checkout! No having to tip someone to do work that normally is part of basic responsibilities in other stores.. no having to walk out with my cart (because it’s never easy to put the cart back on the way out of the store when you have a small child sitting in it) and then walk it back to the store after the person puts my groceries in the car because they never take the cart back for you.. But I’m overseas. If I had a choice, I’d never use the commissary.
I don’t mind the SCO, and in fact I usually use it. I never carry cash, and just find it awkward to have someone take my stuff to my car for me (I’ve always carried my own groceries, probably always will). Also, I have yet to typically buy more food than I can carry in both arms in any case.
That said, yeah, the SCO can be problematic sometimes, like when it’s convinced I’ve put something in the bag I didn’t scan, and refuses to continue until I remove the nonexistent extra item. Or if I want to buy anything from the deleted/damaged items shelf that doesn’t have a barcode to scan.
Plus, I always get wary when the first thing the SCO does is assure me that it’s easy to use. So quick to just state that, it MUST be lying!
That’s another sore point of mine. It’s like you’re being hit in the butt with a broom! haha
